Tigers Basketball Club will be looking to defy the odds against giants Rwanda Energy Group (REG) when the two sides face off in the BK Basketball National League on Friday.

The game starts 8pm at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

Former REG tactician, Patrick Ngwijuruvugo, is the Tigers’ head coach, and he has vowed that his youthful side will give everything on the court for “the victory we so badly need.”

“We have a young team with little experience in the league, but that won’t intimidate us. We will all we can for a win, though, obviously, it is going to be a tough call,” said the Burundi-born coach.

He further revealed that his team’s target in their maiden season is to finish in top five. After five games, Tigers lie in 8th position on the 13-team table with 7 points, having won twice and lost three games.

On the other side, REG go into the game with a maximum 8 points after winning all their first four league games, including their 77-64 victory over reigning champions Patriots last Friday.
