Former Rayon Sports player and Coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga has advised the Blues to use a compact midfield and defend well if they are to get an edge over Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan on Sunday.

The Blues need to win the tie and avoid conceding goals in the first leg clash of the CAF Champions League to have a chance against the experienced side in the return leg in two weeks’ time.

Kayiranga, who guided the Blues to the 2015 Peace cup final which the club lost 0-1 to Police says Rayon Sports need to play two defensive midfielders and also score a quick goal but also defend in numbers to thwart their experienced opponents.

“Rayon sports has the ability to score a couple of goals and also not concede against such a good team but they need to have a more compact midfield and not waste any goal scoring opportunities,” Kayiranga said.

He added “The other thing they should prevent is conceding an away goal because that will put them at a disadvantage in the return leg.”

AS Kigali, the winners of the 2019 Peace Cup will play against Tanzanian KMC on Saturday at Kigali Stadium in the preliminary round of the CAF confederation Cup.
