KARONGI- Kibuye hospital will have to recruit more staff in order to counter the high staff turn over it has been experiencing recently. Currently there are only seven doctors responsible for taking care of over a hundred thousand locals and this has often resulted into complaints of poor care from patients. Dr. Cyrille Dusengamungu, the hospital director, said over 10 additional staff members are needed as soon as possible to alleviate the gap and the recruitment process is in its final stages. “We are targeting more nurses, laboratory technicians and supervisors to work within all health centers in the region. We also need related technical support staff to keep a keen eye on some of the critical systems that health provision needs,” Dusengamungu said in an interview.
