Yesterday, Monday June 27, 2011, 250 primary and nursery children at Green Hills Academy graduated.
There was a lot of excitement and joy as children, parents and teachers interacted. There was a lot of entertainment; songs, dance and drama was part of the annual event.
Teacher Rose Nankinga said the students were happy to act their play about employment on stage.
“The play was about job seekers because we are training our children not to only become job seekers but also job creators in all fields; we want them to become lawyers, ministers, doctors, teachers, business women and men and be successful in any office. This would make us proud as educators,” Teacher Rose said.
Teacher Rose encouraged parents to work hand-in-hand with teachers to train the children.
“Charity begins at home and we would like to train everyone to be great at what they do. Parents should also try and train their children at home. Let’s work together as we train the future generation,” she said.
Mama Keza, a parent was very happy that her child had graduated from Nursery school.
“I thank God for you Keza, I wish you all the best in your life. When you grow up, I know that this will be helpful. I love you so much that you have graduated. I wish you to finish P.6, Secondary school, university, do your masters and even PhD—why not! God bless you!” she exclaimed.
On the other hand, Keza said she was happy to graduate.
“I am happy to see you my teacher and I want to say bye to you teacher. I will miss you,” said a sad Keza to her class teacher.
At the end of the day, the graduation lot had certificates to show for their hard work and everyone was happy. Congratulations!
