They can be as elaborate as one wishes or as simple, but with the same aim of making the house look nicer from the outside which also added value to the home. There are several different methods one can use to manipulate the front yard. Below are some free landscaping ideas that can be used at the front yard.

Colours

Whatever colours that one decides to use when planting some flowers on their front yard, they should be something very colourful which also compliments with the interior of that home. Colours say a lot about the personality of the home owner, so it is just as good if you show your colours starting from your front yard.

Warm colours of red, orange, and yellow are used to attract attention either to something and cool colours of blues and purples are good for meditation gardens.

Border Line

Border lines along the front yard direct the eye along a path and emphasize length; this might be good for making a small house look bigger. In a front yard it is nice to have a small garden next to the house to bring colour and contrast to a wall or to a colour that is not so pleasing to the eye.

In this case using a border line of small bricks or a small fence is nice.

Plant form and texture - There are several plant forms or textures of leaves and branching trends. There are the weeping trees like the weeping willow, and Japanese maple tree, which give a luxurious feel and can be very impressive in a yard or garden, and spreading trees or shrubs that are most commonly used here. When these are planted at the front yard of a house, they make a striking feature which compliments the house greatly.

Focal point

Every front yard must have a focal point, and this is usually created by colour or plant size or both to bring the eye to the front yard of a house. It can be beautifully created by two shrubs of one or different colours and then in the centre a shrub of a third possibly brighter colour is used which is what creates the centre of attraction and becomes the focal point of the front yard.

All these aspects of landscape designs can be mixed and used together to create an impressive front yard which leads to a beautiful home and will leave your visitors admire the totality of your home, both inside and out.
