Would you marry someone with kids?

Everybody deserves another chanceFor starters, anyone who says that they can’t marry a single parent is judgmental, self righteous and very prejudiced; how can you pass judgment on someone even before you know who they really are? I’m quite sure that a self righteous person will believe that a single parent can never be better than them or that they messed up so badly and don’t deserve true love again. How wrong can you be? What you may not know is that such a perception also hurts the innocent kids. It’s as if you suggest that they also don’t deserve a second parent figure to enjoy a perfect family portrait. Let me remind you that being a single parent can happen to anyone at anytime; regardless of how much you avoid it, it may happen to you. There are lots of factors that force people to become single parents… and most of them occur in a blink of an eye; it could be death or it could be that they divorced. Either way, they don’t become lesser people or unqualified to remarry people who want to share love and a family with them. If it so happened that I fell in love with a single mother, I would have no problem with it; I would go on and introduce her to my parents and ask for their blessings. The only problem I would have with a single mother is; if she tried to conceal the fact that she had children and kept me in the blue until I introduced her home. There would be an issue for sure because nobody wants to get married to a liar or a person with low self-esteem. Other than that, single parents are people just like the rest of us. If it is true, that a particular single parent got herself in the tight situation, for example, if she had two kids from two different men and they both left her alone with the kids after finding out about her nasty games, then it should be a personal choice that you decide not to get married to them. However, you are not justified to treat them with contempt, to badmouth them when with your friends, because they are capable of changing and becoming better people. Remember, nobody is perfect on this planet; you are capable of doing worse things! Does it mean that you are not entitled to fall in love or get married? Imagine this world, so full of people with different personalities; drunkards, womanizers, and the ones who can’t control their temper; all of them somehow stumble upon a person who loves them for who they are… how much more do simple single parents deserve a partner who has hope and faith in them? Marriage to me is made beautiful by two committed people, two people who are willing to sacrifice everything for each other; for the good of their relationship.
