While frigidity is to females, impotence is to males. Inability to perform sexual act, or incomplete performance that is to say; premature ejaculation or failure to reach orgasm is some of the symptoms that foreshadow male impotency.
Impotency could either be total or partial. It has also been discovered that men are not impotent to all women, a man may be potent to one woman but the same man may be impotent to the other woman.
For example a man who is cohabitating with a woman who does not measure up to his fancy of conception of his ideal woman, he will neither feel excited, nor ejaculate.
Not only that, he may not have any penile erection either. If such a person is with his wife, he is simply performing a ritual and formality, as his mind revels in some other woman.
In the sexual act, every male has certain ingrained and cherished preferences which, if not agreed to by his wife, drive him to instant turn off. Same also is the case with women. When there is a clash, either partner is bound to have a turn off, however beautiful or handsome the other partner might be.
Major causes of impotence include; Phimosis (tight foreskin over the glans penis), endocrine glands, malfunctioning and low or diminished activity of the gonads.
Diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea, tuberculosis and diabetes cause impotence.
Disjointed and disordered movements of limbs and joints because of lack of coordination, drug-addiction, excessive use of alcohol tobacco and extra-marital relationships or homosexuality usually result in the weakness of sexual organs and consequently weak sperms.
It is important to mention that there are medicines which enhance libido or sexual desire such as aphrodisiacs. Drugs suggested under male sterility will also prove beneficial.
Eating the right diet is also important; a high protein diet that includes eggs, fish, ghee, butter, soybean, tomatoes, beets, mangoes, apples, grapes and jack fruit is important for men.
However, it is a general rule for people to understand that no medicine or diet should ever be taken unless advised by a physician. Over-drugging may prove counterproductive and even harmful.
During treatment, it’s imperative for impotent men to suspend any sexual relations, otherwise all medicines could prove futile. Remember input in a vessel must exceed the output.
Another important aspect is to communicate with your partner. In this way, they can understand what you are going through and provide the necessary emotional support needed.
