Dr. Emmanuel Havugimana, 55, holds a PhD in Human Ecology and is professor of sciences at the National University (NUR), and president of Huye Rotary club. He has been in the education field for 37 years. Some of his ideas have been used in implementing the Pension policy, putting up public toilets in Kigali city, issue of wearing shoes and documented various aspects on the History of Rwanda. He plans to focus on promoting peace, justice and sustainable development“I will advocate for peace in the Rwandan community, put an end to all sorts of injustice and fight poverty through community development programs” Havugimana says. Marguerite Mukansanga, 60, holds a PhD in Law and a wide experience in politics and public administration. She is also a former assistant Prefect of ex-Gitarama province and ex- Mayor of ex-Gitarama city, and is self employed today. Mukansanga will focus on unity as a mechanism of implementing government development programs as seen in four pillars of – Social welfare, Justice, economic development and good governance. “I have already done a good job of advocating for Rwandans in various aspects, I will stress the unity of Rwandans, so as to attain the goal of a ‘one people, one nation, one vision and one team’ she says. Dr.Jean de la Croix Nkurayija, 44, is a lecturer at the National University, holds a PhD in social and Economic development and has plans to advocate for promotion of peace and unity among Rwandans, promote justice and democracy, rule of law and fight genocide ideology as well as help to implement social and economic development for all. “I will advocate for the revision of laws and consultation of residents on laws which respond to needs of the community. I have the ability and am ready to work for the Rwandan community” Nkurayija says Josepha Nyiracumi, 57, holds a BA in business administration and Finance, and is an educationalist with 20 years experience. She worked with Imports and Exports Warehouse (Magerwa) for 15 years and as an auditor with bank populaire Gikondo among others. Nyiracumi says that her experience is profound and will enable her in implementation of laws to fight genocide ideology, regional divisions, and promote unity of Rwandans, will promote gender equality, and collaboration for good governance. “I will advocate for laws that respond to the needs of people, strive for unity and equal opportunity for all” Nyiracumi says.
