Eating out - Sole Luna

Set in a beautiful secret garden, Sole Luna is not just an Italian Restaurant, it is a small piece of Italy in Rwanda. The cozy Italian restaurant is located on the main road between the Chez Lando and the Parliament buildings. To get there, take the Kimironko bus to Chez Lando, cross the road to the Kobil petrol station and, turn right. The restaurant is a five minute walk down the hill on the left. The Bistro is one of the oldest in Kigali, which has been in business for almost a decade, opens Monday to Monday. The ambiance is very pleasant and the décor warm and welcoming. You can sit out under a canopy of flowering vines or up on a platform overlooking the twinkling lights of the city. The menu covers an extensive and affordable selection of pizzas, pastas, calzones and even boasts of a selection of wine. They also have a wide range of toppings, often with a topical theme such Kibuye or Cyangugu. Ordering pizzas here is not an easy task, not with 85 pizzas to choose from. The prices, which are reasonable, range from Rwf3,200 for a margarita pizza up to almost Rwf 6,000 for the more fancy varieties. A mixed salad goes for Rwf2,900, spaghetti boognaise costs Rwf3, 900 while beef lasagne is a pricey Rwf5, 900, same price as a steak dish.
