Yesterday we celebrated our nation’s Liberation Day. To Rwandans, July 4 will always be a very special day.
It is a day that not only was a terrible regime was removed but a genocide that threatened to wipe out the Batutsi was stopped.
July 4 is also important for having closed a terrible chapter in our nation’s history but paved way another brighter chapter to be written.
Today, the country prides itself with many achievements. The leadership has a clear vision for its people. It has shared this vision with all Rwandans.
The nation is exploiting its strength which includes her resilient and hardworking people and pointing at the challenges as possible opportunities that are awaiting exploitation.
It’s now up to Rwandans to liberate their minds. It’s time to take stock of the achievements on even individual levels and working towards forging a way forward.
Government has already played its part by emphasising the importance of education and information technology for a knowledge based economy, health, transport, trade and much more.
The onus is now on you to take advantage of the opportunities and great environment to liberate yourself from poverty and any other aspects that need changing.
