A group of young talented film-makers from the Rwanda Cinema Centre (RCC) have seen their efforts to be part of the movie industry come to success.
The film titled ‘Seeds of mercy’, that recently finalised its shooting, is tackling issues to do with the importance of forgiveness in Rwanda’s future.
It is the first of the locally produced films, by Rwanda’s own Hollywood equivalent ‘Hillywood’; to have been steered by local professionals, without any assistance from experienced international filmmakers.
‘Seeds of mercy’ was directed by Tega Mutimura and produced by Alix Umutoniwase.
Students are set to show-case the film during their graduation ceremony scheduled for March 16.
Film-makers have already completed a basic course at the recently launched RCC film institute. More students still enrolling for the course, gives Hillywood an opportunity to have more local professional film-makers, for the budding industry.
