RWANDA’S midfielder Jimmy Mulisa has joined Belgian third division outfit Berchem Sport 2004 on a one-year contract.
The 29-year old player put pen to paper after featuring in the club’s final friendly match against Beerschot Wilrijk during which he created two goals over the weekend.
Berchem Sport 2004 head coach Bart Selleslaghs lauded the experience Mulisa brings to the club after playing for several African and European clubs, saying he hoped his new signing will play a vital role in the club’s ambitions this season.
Mulisa played for APR from 2002 to 2005 before heading to Europe where he played for different clubs, including AEC Mons, Bergen, Racing Mechelen, Tournai, Vigor Hamme Wuitens, Roulers and Beveren.
In 2009, he played for clubs in Romania, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Khazakistan before returning to Belgium where he played for Sint-Niklaas before joining Tubize.
After discussions between both parties, Tubize and Mulisa put to an end to their contract.
Mulisa has eleven international caps for Amavubi for which he last featured in 2009 against Algeria in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
