National league champions, Rayon Sports have signed three more players including midfielder Jean Paul Havugarurema, left back Moses Kanamugire from La Jeunesse and Eric Ndahayo from Police FC, all on two-year contracts.

Confirming the trio’s acquisition, the Blues’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya said the signings highlight the club’s vision of giving chance to many Rwandan players.

Earlier, it was reported that Ndahayo had signed for La Jeunesse but the striker later changed his mind and joined Rayon Sports.

“We need more Rwandan players and experienced players, which will help the team in the future and also the upcoming season,” Gakwaya told Times Sport on Monday.

He added, “It’s important to strengthen our team in preparation for out title defence. The players we have signed so far are all very good but we plan to add three more before the season starts next month.”

The seven-time Rwandan champions started pre-season trainings ahead of the new season, which is scheduled to start on September 21.

The Nyanza-based club has already signed Djihad Bizimana { Etincelles}, Arafat Serugendo { Mukura}, Claude Rwaka {La Jeunesse}, Robert Ndatimana {Isonga} and Jean Luc Ndayishimiye Bakame {APR}.
