Employees of Kigali Farm Company, on Tuesday, visited Kigali Genocide Memorial centre to pay respect to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.The team was led by the company’s chief executive officer, Laurent Demuynck. The employees were given information about how the genocide unfolded, its effects and how the government embarked on the reconciliation process.After the visit, Demuynck said that what happened in the country should be a lesson not only in Rwanda, but else where in the World to avoid loss of life.“I have heard and seen things that actually make me imagine what exactly happened in this country and it was disastrous; something that should never be given room any where,” said Demuynck.He reminded Rwandans never to forget what happened in a spirit of keeping the memories as a factor to building a strong Never Again mechanism.The team also paid a visit to widows and Genocide survivors in Gicumbi district.Jean Paul Uwayezu, one of the staff, urged the public, especially the youth, to lead the reconciliation process through creating awareness, especially about its benefits.He said the youth were used during the Genocide and that it is time they contribute towards development of the country, adding that educating the young generation about what happened will help in fighting genocide ideology.
