Three-time league champions AS Kigali moved closer to their fourth consecutive title after beating bitter rivals APR 2-0 in the women football league on Sunday at Stade de Kigali in Nyamirambo.

AS Kigali’s 14th win in a row was inspired by sisters Chadia Uwamahirwe and Saida Ntagisanimana.

Uwamahirwe scored the first goal in the first half before her sibling made sure of the points in the second half.

The win means the champions need just three more points from the last four matches to retain the title. AS Kigali’s next match is against Northern Province side Rambura on Sunday.
