Rayon Sport head coach Didier Gomes da Rosa has urged his players to stay focused and guarded against complacency in the race for the Primus league title after being knocked out of the Peace Cup competition.

Primus league leaders Rayon were stunned by second division high fliers Bugesera 2-1 ending  their hope for a double.

With seven matches remaining, Rayon top the Primus league log with 41 points, a point ahead of second-placed Police, whom they meet on Sunday at Amahoro stadium.

Coach Gomes said, “We can now shift focus to the Primus league title race. We need to be well prepared for Sunday’s game against Police.”

“It is going to be tough but this is the time we must show our true strength and character. We must utilise our goal scoring opportunities,” added the Frenchman, who suffered his first defeat as Rayon coach on Wednesday.

This season the Blues have won 13, drawn two and lost four matches in the league. They have scored a total 40 goals, and conceded 19.

In order to win their seventh league title, the Nyanza-based club must avoid losing valuable points in their remaining seven games against Kiyovu, Police, Isonga, Etincelles, Muhanga, Musanze and Espoir.
