The MTN Group president and chief executive officer, Sifiso Dabengwa, has visited Rwanda and promised the firm’s commitment to providing a distinct digital service to subscribers.

The MTN Group president and chief executive officer, Sifiso Dabengwa, has visited Rwanda and promised the firm’s commitment to providing a distinct digital service to subscribers.

“Rwanda has always been an important operation for MTN...We want to maintain the market leadership in the country by creating value for shareholders, employees and communities in a sustainable way and in accordance with values and ethics of MTN,” he said during the stop-over of the all-African trip dubbed the ‘Group Leadership Road Show’.

Meanwhile, the group’s 2012 revenues and number of subscribers have gone up despite the continuing slowdown of the world economy.

Dabengwa said the firm’s subscribers increased by 15.1 per cent last year to over 189 million worldwide, while revenue grew by 10.9 per cent.
