APR coach Eric Nshimiyimana remains optimistic his team will progress to the next stage of the CAF Champions League as they head out to Bujumbura for the return leg match against Vital’O due to be played on Sunday at Prince Rwagasore stadium.

The Burundian champions shocked their Rwandan counterparts 2-1 two weeks ago in the first leg and now APR need an outright win to progress to the first round. The military side departs for Bujumbura Friday morning aboard RwandAir.

Nshimiyimana says he has been working hard with the players and is confident they will get the result need in Bujumbura.

He noted that the Peace Cup win against second division side Sun Rise last weekend is a morale booster to the team and says he has noted great improvement in the team.

“We have had enough preparations and players are ready for the task at hand in Bujumbura. We’re going there to win, which I believe is very possible.  Vital’O came here (Kigali) and won and we can also go to their place and do the same on Sunday,” the former APR midfielder told Times Sport on Thursday.

Apart from the injured striker Farouk Ruhinda and goalkepper Jean Luc Ndayishimiye, the rest of the squad is injury-free.
