Duo finishes in top ten in Red Sea Classic

Team Rwanda’s Bonaventure Uwizeyimana and Jean Bosco Nsengiyumva finished in top ten in the Red Sea Classic cycling race held in Eritrea on Sunday.

Uwizeyimana finished in sixth position in a sprint finish, while Nsengiyumva came tenth. Hassan Rukundo came in 17th position while skipper Nathan Byukusenge was 18th.

“We are very pleased with the way these new riders are performing.  Their experience level is going up exceptionally well and they are riding aggressively,” a Team Rwanda official told this paper by e-mail from Asmara.

Today, Team Rwanda rider turn their attention to the second race, the four-day Tour of Eritrea which runs until Friday before winding up with the third and final race, the Tour of Fenkeil, which starts on Sunday.
