GASABO - Yesterday, Remera residents were recipients of a paediatric clinic, Clinique Pediatrique Mere De Verbe which was officially opened by the Minister of Health, Dr. Richard Sezibera.

The Minister advised the residents to always seek medical attention for their children in order to reduce child mortality rates.

“It is easy to reduce the number of deaths of children below the age of five if residents seek medical services and fight ignorance,” Dr. Sezibera said.

He also thanked the administration of Mere De Verbe Primary School and Orphanage for coming up with the bright idea of building a clinic in the area.

“Building a paediatric clinic to improve the health of children in Rwanda is as good an idea as that of teaching our students and assisting the vulnerable children. So, I greatly thank the administration for that,” he said. He also pledged that the ministry will work hand in hand with the clinic to see that quality services are delivered.

The Director of “Mere De Verbe”, Father Vito Misuraca, said that the idea to build a clinic at the school was to provide both education and health services for children in Rwanda. He added that the clinic will not only care for its pupils but will be open to all in the district.
