Paradox created by Christians who embrace homosexuality

When I read the article published in The New Times of Tuesday 24, I felt so much concerned that I sat down and thought what I could do to support my fellow Christians not to be blown by gay wind. True the contemporary world has come up with a number of new changes in the way our forefathers or the fathers of Christianity in Africa and the world over, but we if we still want to inherit the Kingdom of the Almighty God, all Christians should stick to what the bible says about immoral behaviours. There are a number of social ills including; lesbianism, gay marriages, drug trafficking prostitution to mention but a few. If any one who believes in the bible or any other book that talks about God, perceives homosexuality as an acceptable behaviours, then he/she is off truck and needs to repent before the church can accept him/her back. The church has been blamed for decades for failing to contain Christians to Christian values and morals, but with a stern action from the African continent and Rwanda in particular, there is a clear indication that it will change for the better. Pretence in the presence of the Almighty God is blamed, why then do we have to pretend as Christians in the day and at night, we reveal our true colours? Salvation came from the west, but originated from heaven. Therefore, Africa can bring about Christian reformation by not participating in anything which swerves them from the core objective of Christianity. The resolution by the Rwandan Anglican bishops not to attend the Lambeth Conference in order not to mingle with sympathizers of homosexuals shows that the country’s scribes are fervent about instilling good morals to God’s sheep all over the world. Materialism and evangelism has never been at a meeting deal, African Bishops should not behave in the way that derives them of their divine positions. The reasons why Africa is still facing some of the problems such as poverty, hunger and civil wars is that we Africans have tended to compromise ourselves with the unenthusiastic waves from our masters. We ought to be more assertive in finding solutions to the problems facing our daily lives and the respective churches as well. Let us be the ambassadors of change in this era, when modernization is trying to inflict its bad behaviours on us. Christians need to selectively select the best values that represent Christian values. Homosexuality is condemned in the Bible The Bible’s condemnation of homosexuality is as clear and plain as the Bible’s condemnation of murder, adultery, premarital sex, kidnapping, lying and idolatry. The homosexual community has two ways of promoting their personal choices of being homosexual through the religious forum. First, some will claim the Bible actually promotes and condones homosexuality. Second, others try to get the Bible banned from public use by categorizing it as hate literature. For anyone to use the Bible to condone rather than condemn homosexual activity in the theological arena just proves that such a person has absolutely no idea about what the Bible actually teaches. For anyone to suggest that the Bible says homosexual activity is acceptable to God is nothing short of wilful blindness. So to set the record straight once and for all, here is what the Bible teaches on the subject. Anyone who has heard of the cities of “Sodom and Gomorrah” knows that they were notorious hotbeds of homosexuality. Gen 19:5-8. Leviticus 20:13 reads that “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death”. If the homosexual community chooses to practice homosexuality in privacy, that is there free choice. But let such persons know for certain that the Christian Bible condemns all such practices and unfit for the kingdom of heaven if they continue to practice and openly promote homosexuality. To the Rwandan community, such behaviours are unheard of, though some isolated cases have been sighted, but we need to stay at the guard before the bad forces of globalization and the so called contemporary Christianity attacks us.
