FC Lorient striker Kévin Monnet-Paquet is ready to don Amavubi colours according to Ferwafa boss Celestin Ntagungira.
Ntagungira, who returned recently from a European tour, says talks with the players and his parents were very promising.
“I held talks with him (Paquet) and his parents and I’m glad to say that there are very high chances that he will play for Amavubi in the near future.”
Paquet, who is also eligible to play for les bleus, has featured for France’s U-18 and U-19 national sides.
He burst onto the scene in 2008 when he scored Lens’ winner in a 2-1 victory over Valenciennes.
He also made five appearances for Lens in the Europa League.
Meme rules out playing for Rwanda
However, it is not good news with Mohammed ‘Meme’ Tchité. The Standard Liège player has made it clear that he wants to play for Belgium.
“He wants to play for Belgium and a respect his decision,” Ntagungira said.
The Ferwafa chief also had talks with Henry Munyaneza (St. Niklaas), Bon Fils Kabanda (AS Nancy) and Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a baby (AS Cannes).
With the 2013 Nations Cup qualifiers and 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign round the corner, Amavubi are leaving no stone unturned.
