Editor, It’s time Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS) stepped up a campaign help raise the quality of local products. Such a campaign can target farmers, industrialists, traders as well as consumers. This will not only help safeguard the lives of consumers, but will also make our products more competitive on the regional or international market. Quality is a major factor if you are to penetrate and succeed in a competitive market. Therefore, it is important that RBS gives as much attention to raising public awareness and knowledge with regard to quality, as they do when it comes to tracing and banning products that are considered substandard.
