THE national football federation (Ferwafa) needs Rwf80m for this year’s Peace Cup, according to the body’s Chief Executive Officer Michel Gasigwa. Sponsorship talks with perennial bankrollers MTN are already underway and Gasigwa is hopefully the telecom giants will foot the proposed Rwf80m budget. Last year, the sponsorship package was slashed from Rwf50m to Rwf25m; something Gasigwa blames on poor working relations between the previous Ferwafa administration and MTN. “With more teams in play this year, the logistics will definitely go up so we need about Rwf80m to make sure the tournament is a success,” Gasigwa said.
