Editor,

I read in the media recently that about 50 Police Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had completed an investigation skills course. This training will, without doubt, contribute towards the professionalization of the force.

The Police force must ensure the acquired skills are put to good use. These skills are very important because without clear investigation, wrongdoers commit crimes and go unpunished.

Today, criminals use advanced technology and law enforcers will always need hi-tech metods to catch the “smart” ones.

I appeal to all Rwandans to cooperate with police and other security agencies in order to curb crime in the country.
