Editor,

The deportation of Marie Claire Mukeshimana, the second Genocide fugitive from the US, is welcome news. The convict was deported after the US immigration authorities discovered irregularities in the documents permitting her to enter and live in the US.

Mukeshimana is an example of the many other Genocide fugitives who changed their identities to evade justice. I hope many countries could borrow a leaf from the US and extradite the perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi.

Declining to cooperate and punish criminals will only encourage the culture of impunity.
