I am a Rwandan living abroad and I have been a client with one of the local banks in Kigali since 2008.
I had not had any problem related to customer service with the bank, until when the online banking service became unreliable.
We had been informed by the bank through an announcement posted on the website that the service was being upgraded and would be available by August this year.
While the service is available, I’m finding it hard to get my user name and password working. Despite a number of appeals my account is yet to be re-activated.
Through your paper, I would like to encourage banks to prioritize online banking.
Rwanda has the necessary technology and banks should take advantage of it. In this day and age, one should be able to conduct online bank from wherever they are.
I am sure this will reduce queues and leave many clients happy, especially those outside the country.
