JEROME Sina scored a brace to hand Rayon Sport their first Primus National Football League win in six games yesterday at Kigali Regional Stadium.
The striker scored his first goal on the 46th minute while the second came on the 90th minute to hand Jean Marie Ntagwabira his first league win as Rayon coach.
Nine minutes from time, Idrissa Manirafasha pulled one back for La Jeunesse but the Blues held on for a well deserved win.
The win moved Rayon to sixth place with 21 points while La Jeunesse, which is now coached by former Atraco and Rayon assistant coach Emmanuel Ruremesha dropped to eighth.
At Mumena Stadium, SC Kiyovu kept their second position intact after a 1-0 victory over relegation battling AS Muhanga. The win moved the green baggies to 33 points, 12 behind
League leaders and reigning champions APR while Muhanga dropped to the foot of the table with 10 points.
In the Southern Province, Mukura boasted their survival hopes with a hard earned 1-0 win over Amagaju. Mukura are now in 11th place with 11 points, just one adrift of Amagaju.
On Saturday, APR bounced back from last week’s traumatic defeat against AS Kigali with midfield maestro Jean Baptist Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi scoring twice in a 4-0 stroll against Musanze.
After a goalless first half, APR left back Donatien Tuyisenge opened the scoring with a sublime strike on the 67th minute while Ernest Kwizera scored the third.
Migi, who has been playing behind the strikers, tops the Primus National Football League (PNFL) charts with 13 goals.
