AT this rate it is apparent that Kigali’s entertainment scene is moving away from its boring reputation to a lively industry, with a variety of electrifying activities every weekend.

On Saturday, Kenya’s biggest Pop group, P-UNIT, is set to fire up the stage at ‘Kenya Night’ – Kigali edition, at Sportsview Hotel in Remera. The event is being organsied by Sleek Communication.

Fresh from MTV MAMA’s Awards in Nigeria, the group is currently riding high on African charts, radios and clubs with their club banger hit ‘Kare.’ They are now ready to take Kigali by storm where they will be accompanied by one of Kenya’s renowned spin-doctors, DJ Collo.

In what is expected to be a regular entertainment theme night showcasing Kenyan music and culture, “Kenya Night” will also promote unity in diversity among Kenyans in Rwanda.

With the best Kenyan music artists, DJ’s performances, food, fashion and public personalities in attendance, the “Kenya Night” is expected to be a night of unparalleled celebration, empowerment, networking and community involvement.

Consisting of Frasha, Gabu and Bon Eye, P-UNIT has bagged numerous Awards in some of Kenya’s premier Awards, such as Kisima and CHAT Awards.

Formed in 2006, the group has proven that they are not just a one hit wonder by their phenomenon success. They have released four singles in the last two years, which include ‘Si Lazima’, ‘Kushoto Kulia’ and ‘Una’ with all the songs being instant hits across the country and in the other East African countries.

 They have held numerous shows across the region too, attracting huge crowds.

P-UNIT’s music falls under the ‘Gengegenre’. Genge is a Swahili word for mass and the group entertains the masses, hence their phenomenal success.

Their sound is very unique and is widely accepted in the club scenes.
