Fespad ends on a high note

After a dance-filled week across the country and several press conferences regarding creative dance, Fespad (The Pan African Dance Festival) 7th Edition successfully sealed off with celebrations at Amahoro Stadium, July 31st, 2010.

After a dance-filled week across the country and several press conferences regarding creative dance, Fespad (The Pan African Dance Festival) 7th Edition successfully sealed off with celebrations at Amahoro Stadium, July 31st, 2010.

The occasion was presided over by Joseph Habineza, the Minister of Sports and Culture who later handed Rwf2million prize money to the winners of the FESPAD Dance Competition.

Contemporary dance moves by Fespad participating countries such as; Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, France, Namibia, Mauritius, Guinea, Burundi and Rwandan Diaspora in Uganda and Burundi displayed the rich cultural diversity in Africa.

The event was later sealed off with sizzling performances from local artists and the famous francophone Zouk Band, Kassav meaning an Antillean Creole for a dish made from cassava.
