Interesting and unusual dwelling places, can be spotted all over the face of the planet as man tries to spice up his stay on earth. The idea is, if I cannot move from planet earth, I might as well make my stay as interesting as possible and what better way or place to start than in the place where one lives? Reminds me of the famous saying.
From time immemorial, man has desired a place to call home, a place where one felt that they belonged and were wanted and protected from the outside world. Then the idea of creativity popped in.
A combination of creativity and the desire to make life interesting has resulted into very fascinating architectural master pieces that color up the locations and neighborhoods in which they were constructed. There are numerous creations to speak about but notable are the following. There is a house in the shape of a toilet in a place called Suwon, near south of Seoul, South Korea. Another one has been constructed in the shape of Airbus - A380 to be precise in Miziara, Lebanon. A crocodile shaped house, in Ivory Coast’s capital Abidjan joins the unusual list. Others use already existing rocks as their roofs such as the house in Mexico’s northern state of Coahuila and still more ingenious and I must say determined people curve theirs in stone such as the Setenil De Las Bodegas, in the Andalucía province of Spain.
Mansions, cabins or simple houses have also been sighted on top of cliffs, hanging in trees, on single huge rocks sitting on islands. All house designs including shoes shaped houses, a soccer shaped house ( In Japan) eggs, pyramids as well as those which can achieve different feats like revolve around or adjust their height – imagine!
What beats them all( I think) is the tiny house model which ensures that you have only the living space that you need and what is super, is that you can move your house with you! How cool is that? Although there is not much space in this tiny house ( for obvious reasons), one’s life is made so much simpler. Take for instance, you can park it next to your work place and say bye – bye to transport or traffic jams. If you want to go for holiday – you move with your accommodation too and the rest of your stuff. Also, the saving on utility bills is just amazing.
All this just goes to show that man can master anything!
