Azam Rwanda Premier League side, Bugesera Football Club have suspended head coach Ally Bizimungu for 15 days as the team struggles for results that has left them bottom of the league table.
Bizimungu joined the Nyamata-based club just over three months ago on a one-year contract, but is already under immerse pressure as his team find themselves bottom of the 16-team league standing with four points after five rounds of matches.
Bugesera, who finished in fifth place last season with 50 points from 13 wins, 11 draws and six defeats, have already lost three times this campaign including the last game 3-0 against APR FC on Wednesday—their only win (1-0) was over reigning champions Rayon Sports on match-day three.
Speaking to Times Sport on Friday, Bugesera FC secretary general and Spokesperson, Silas Mbonigaba confirmed Bizimungu’s suspension because of pool results.
He said, “Before the season started, we set a target to finish in the top four, but after five matches, we finds ourselves at the bottom of the table, so we have decide to suspend the coach for 15 days and see if there is a change, after which we shall make the final decision whether to retain him of let him go.”
Mbonigaba confirmed that assistant coach Maurice ‘Maso’ Nshimiyimana will be in charge of the team for the weekend clash against Gicumbi FC in Nyamata.
Bizimungu replaced Gilbert ‘Yaoundé’ Kanyankore, who was been sacked before the start of the 2017/18 season. If former Rayon Sports, SC Kiyovu and Mukura VS tactician, Bizimungi, is sacked, he will be first coach to lose his job this season.
