SA should lift travel restrictions on Rwandans

Editor, RE: “Visiting S. African MPs look to learn how to empower citizens” (The New Times, October 3). I applaud this visit as no doubt the MPs from South Africa have lots to learn from the excellent model of proper governance in Rwanda.

RE:Visiting S. African MPs look to learn how to empower citizens” (The New Times, October 3). I applaud this visit as no doubt the MPs from South Africa have lots to learn from the excellent model of proper governance in Rwanda.

 

That said, one wonders why it’s not a problem for MPs from South Africa and Rwanda to exchange visits with each other when our Rwandan students who might be interested in studying in South African universities, mostly ranked the highest in Africa, are unable to get a visa to enter South Africa.

 

As President Paul Kagame so persuasively advocates, free travel among African countries will enhance opportunities for every African and the development of every African country.
