AS Vita Club forward Ernest Sugira has been named the Congolese club’s Player of the Month, earning himself the Award Banavea, for the month of September.
Award Banavea is organised by the supporters of the Association Sportive Victoria Club (AS Vital Club). According to www.banavea.com, the 25 year-old Rwanda international beat teammates Sidibe Oumar Atouba, Joyce Lomanisa and Bangala to the award.
He scooped the award after winning 224 out of 485 votes, representing 46.19 per cent.
“I am very happy after receiving this award and I thank our fans and the club for their support. And, of course, I wouldn’t have achieve this without the help of my teammates who have been great to me,” Sugira said.
Sugira scored for AS Vita in their 3-0 win against MK Etancheite, while the Amavubi striker also scored the lone goal when his side beat AS Dragons 1-0 as well as the winner in the 1-0 victory over Rojolu FC.
In May, the forward sealed a Rwf102 million move to AS Vita Club from AS Kigali, inking a deal that sees him earn Rwf4 million every month.
