Just as album launches continue to draw a handful of people, one of the country’s most adorable groups has found a new way of announcing their new albums by staging upcountry shows.
The duo, Dream Boys, signed under Kina Music label, will be taking their next album launch to the Northern Province town of Gicumbi come September 10.
Platini Nemeye and Claude Mujyanama are set to launch their sixth album titled Wenda azaza before residents of Gicumbi, opting not to do it in Kigali after a series of launches by other artistes failed to attract people.
The boys launched their previous album named Nzibuka n’Abandi last year in March at Kigali Serena Hotel, attracting a sizeable crowd, but they do not want to take chances again.
According to Nemeye, the album will feature their latest songs from last year and this year, including their latest hit songs 70, Wenda Azaza, Uzamubwire, Inkundo z’i Kigali and Birarangiye in which they feature Jay Polly.
“Our aim is to reach out to our fans in other parts of the country, who have supported us throughout this journey. We will be holding concerts in different parts of the country,” says Nemeye.
The group says their decision to take the launch upcountry is not a result of the failure of shows in Kigali to attract people, but is a deliberate move, to take their music to their fans across the country.
They have previously launched an album in Musanze town in 2014 and the next could be in Eastern Province after Gicumbi.
The show will take place in Gicumbi District Stadium and the duo will be supported by Kina Music artistes, Jay Polly, Bruce Melody, Christopher and Yvan Buravan among other artistes.
