RWAMAGANA –  The leader of the Parti Démocrate Centriste (PDC) Agnès Mukabaranga, has warned party members against divisive politics which she said plunged the country into trouble.

She also called for positive politics characterised by democracy and anti- corruption.

“Our line is clear. We want a society that is free of political malaise,” Mukabaranga said. “Democracy coupled with good governance leads a country to sustainable development.”

“Our party is guided by such principles. Our followers and other Rwandans should follow suit.”

She was addressing over 100 members who had gathered for a two-day workshop in Rwamagana district.

The party members drawn from Kigali City and the Northern Province held a long discussion on good governance and democracy in Rwanda.

Mukabaranga revealed that the party will not be fielding any candidate in next years’ presidential elections.

“Fielding a presidential aspirant is not as easy as some people would like to portray it,” she said.

Jeanne d’Arc Muhayimana, one of the participants, said the workshop equipped them with enough knowledge to exercise their civic rights.

“A number of resourceful persons have trained us. The two days have been fruitful, and we hope to participate well in the next coming presidential elections,” she said.
