It is unfortunate that even when the government is trying to ensure people’s welfare, some people violate the government’s sympathy and keep on streets. A big number of children on the street are children sent by their mothers or grand mothers. This means that parents are the ones sending children begging rather than asking them to go to school or helping them to grow up responsibly. It is possible that the parents who send their children to streets are needy, but begging on street is not the solution. Measures should be put in place to ensure that one gets basic needs like food. It is regrettable that when children are on the street, their future is definitely made worse since they learn how to use drugs, and become dangerous to the community. Worse still, people have developed a negative attitude towards beggars because sometimes people who appear to be strong queue with the disabled for favours from people.
