PERSONALITIES IN THE NEWS 2013

Dr. Mike O’NealHe is the first Chancellor of the newly formed University of Rwanda. He is a seasoned academic leader and former president of the US-based Oklahoma Christian University. The University of Rwanda comprises of seven former public universities and institutions of higher learning.

Dr. Mike O’Neal

He is the first Chancellor of the newly formed University of Rwanda. He is a seasoned academic leader and former president of the US-based Oklahoma Christian University. The University of Rwanda comprises of seven former public universities and institutions of higher learning.

Prof. Mannaseh Nshuti

Prof. Nshuti is one of the founding members of the University of Kigali, one of the newly established universities in Rwanda. Formerly a cabinet minister, Prof. Nshuti has previously served as the Chairman of Crystal Ventures board.

Jerome Gasana

He is the current Director General of the Workforce Development Authority, the body under which all Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes fall. It is now five years since Rwanda introduced TVET to promote skills development among the youth. TVET takes the biggest percentage of the education budget.

Jean Michel Habineza

He is the Programme Manager of Idebate Rwanda, an NGO that is using debate to change the lives of young Rwandans. Idebate gives students the tool to change their own world by teaching them how to think critically. Idebate has organised several debates this year for both secondary and university students.
