Allioni, Washington didn’t quite nail ‘Umusumari’

But even though Washington is one of the most respected music producers in the region with several accolades under his belt, it is quite clear that he is not as talented a singer as he is a producer.

I believe Allioni Buzindu’s Umusumari (Nail) would have been a better song if he (Washington) had done only what he does best – crafting beats – and let Allioni handle the microphone.

Another thing that murdered the song was the idea of singing in more than two languages. Washington’s broken Kinyarwanda wasn’t funny and fusing it with Swahili and English only made matters worse. But the production of the song was… awesome.
