Rwanda’s Fifa/Caf licensed referee Michel Gasingwa has been named to officiate at the upcoming Francophone Games.
The games are scheduled for September 27- October 6 in Beirut, Lebanon. Gasingwa was seconded by the local football governing body (Ferwafa0 and is now set to officiate alongside some of the big names in the profession.
Gasingwa started refereeing back in 1995 but only took two years to break onto the international scene in 1997. He has since officiated at various Caf competitions. This year, twelve teams drawn in three Groups are in contention.
Group A pits Rwanda with Senegal, Egypt and Mali, Group B comprises of France, Morocco, Congo and Canada while Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and host country, Lebanon make up Group C.
Rwanda will open their Group A campaign with Mali on September 26.
