Arthur Nation, the organisers of the Seka Live comedy series, is bringing the Kids’ Summer Festival to Kigali this weekend.
The two-day event is slated for Saturday and Sunday at the Spiderman Game Centre in Masaka. The centre is renowned for hosting interactive children’s events like the Christmas Kids Festival and Easter Kids Party.
Arthur Nation is the brainchild of local comedian, actor and radio personality Arthur Nkusi.
According to organisers, the festival will be characterised by many fun activities like music, games, talent shows, superman games, singing, modeling and dancing, among others.
To entertain the kids, organisers have lined up a host of local musicians and local celebrities, including PGGSS winner Bruce Melodie, Christopher, and radio personality Sandrine Insheja.
“This summer festival aims at giving the kids a real music concert because most of the time, kids don’t get a chance to attend concerts by big artistes in Rwanda because of the time they happen and venues which are not conducive for them,” explained Nice Budandi, the operations manager of Arthur Nation.
Entrance to the event is Rwf 5,000 per head.
A week later, on August 31, Arthur Nation will stage another event dubbed Seka Rising Stars.
This particular show will take place at the 4G Square in Downtown Kigali. Seka Rising Stars is a group of budding comedians whose talent was identified from different secondary schools around the country.
For each of the last four Seka Live comedy shows, organisers travelled to different schools and staged comedy auditions where students with promising comedy talent were identified.
The best of these were then drafted as curtain raisers at the successive Seka Live comedy shows in Kigali.
The first Seka Live event took place in March 2016 at the Kigali Serena Hotel.
