Rwanda in Group I for World Championship qualifiers

Rwanda has been pooled in Group I alongside Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia in the preliminary round of the FIVB World Championships qualifiers to be played on a yet to be determined date between May and July. The three men teams and two women teams from the Zone will then qualify to play in the Zone 5 qualifiers where the top teams will proceed to the African main qualifier stage to determine the team that will represent Africa at the world Cup. The second Zone 5 region will have Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania. These have been drawn in Pool H. The Rwanda Volleyball Federation Technical Director Christian Hatumimana said yesterday that they are set to appoint the Men’s national team. Currently, Kenyan Paul Bitok and Jean Marie Nsengiyumva have been managing both the men and women’s team but now the federation was to have permament coaches for both teams such that they can start immediate preparations.
