What a complete waste of time New Year’s what? Come on- we honestly have other things to do than sit and listen to people’s phony New Year’s resolutions.I do not even know where to begin but I will just come and say it out straight- people that make New Years’ resolutions are liars and should not be trusted.Okay, that was a bit harsh but if someone cannot keep a promise they make to themselves, how on earth are they ever going to keep a promise they make to someone else?I will stop pointing fingers and just give you a perfect example of myself- before I turned into a responsible adult – I was just as spurious as so many people out there only I have an excuse - I was young - but what excuse do adults have for making silly resolutions that they cannot even keep?Over the weekend I was seated at home and because it was the festive season - I was as if glued to my seat- no one forced me to stay there but it goes without saying that you have to stay around and listen to people talk about the previous year and the kinds of things they plan on doing the next year.Frankly, it is not in my nature to sit around and listen to people run their mouths about shitty stuff but this cousin of mine must be the grandfather of all shitty jazz- he is a drunkard and a smoker- and then he starts telling us about how next year is going to be a different year because apparently he is going to stop drinking and smoking- yeah right- like we have not heard all that before.I can swear that from the time I was 13 this dude has had the same New Year’s resolution and on the 1st day of every year we have to carry him out of a bar and let him sleep throughout the following days. Let us be adults and even change this “New Year’s resolution” name to something else because it has totally lost its meaning- I think the best thing is to call it the “New Year’s damn stupid wishes that are impossible to fulfill”.Otherwise, for everyone that still wastes their time making New Year’s resolutions and feeling stupid in the middle of the year for not fulfilling them- it is not too late, you can just join me and start working towards your goals anytime you feel like doing so.Have a blessed New Year and desist from making stupid resolutions that will make you feel stupid twice for not being able to keep up with them.
