Corruption has no room in Rwanda

Editor,Corruption is responsible for under development in Africa. Remember we get aid but what happens is that our leaders use this money to build castles for themselves and leave ordinary people to wallow in poverty. Rwanda’s leadership has been able to change this trend in Africa by holding everybody regardless, of their status accountable. Yes, we can develop but we need to use our resources properly. Auditor General, and PAC members, we are behind you. We don’t want to hear that the money got lost because accountants lack capacity or skills to detect it.Fred,Kampala ---------------------------------------------Editor, It is encouraging to learn that the auditor General, Obadiah Biraro, has recommended that administrative punishments be meted on public accountants who commit errors in their reports. We don’t want anybody to joke with public funds. We don’t have enough resources. Those who mismanage the little we have must be held accountable. Every year, the auditor General’s report shows missing funds. This must stop.
