We are just getting started! I have never been so grateful to the Lord for creating me in an era where a woman can eat whatever she wants without tradition or some ridiculous law telling her she can’t. For a long time, women were forbidden from eating meat (apparently it was a guys thing...as if women didn’t have the teeth for it) and since I am a devoted carnivore, well – my beef is at its highest!I really do not know what God whispered to Adam (that’s if He even whispered to him at all) to make men think they are the only ones entitled to dominance. I don’t know about you, but the Bible I read says Eve was created as Adam’s partner and not someone he can bully around just because he was created first!You see, some men have egos the size of China and can’t stand to see a woman reaping benefits they think were created for the male species. Some women work extremely hard to get to where they are and I think it is not only rude but extremely ignorant to assume that women only flirt their way there.Aside from my beef with denying women ballistic things like meat, education and even a simple opinion were unheard of for women. And now that we can finally stand up for ourselves and eat all the meat in the world, get as many degrees or PhD’s as our intelligence can get us, hold our own in any ‘male dominated’ conversation, we are going too far?When we bring home the bacon, apparently we are neglecting our duties as parents. I ask to be informed on the law that says women are more capable of parenthood than men. Breast milk does not mean men are incapable of nurturing babies just as well or even better than women. Yes, we have that motherly nature, but men should step up and put the macho crap aside and learn to handle things should a woman not be able to. For example, I don’t care how huge a man’s ego is, if he is out of job and I still have mine and there is a baby to look after, he’ll be dealing with a lot of baby drool while I’m away.A female colleague insisted that Rwandan women had taken emancipation to another level, going as far as hiring two or more maids in one household. Apparently, men have forgotten their responsibilities. If memory serves me correct, God told Adam that his punishment would be to toil for the well being of his family.The speed at which men claim we are over emancipating ourselves then boldly tell us to style up when it comes to finances is annoying! They insist we should earn our own money, well guess what, we are! And that wasn’t even the deal! We just need to respect each other and not play this ‘boss’ game anymore...it’s old and boring! We are moving towards complete freedom and no male ego is going to mess that up.
