Dumped with a bang!

I’ve come to realize that you will never know true happiness until you’ve truly loved, and you will never understand what pain really is until you lose that love. Have you ever been lifted so high and then dumped so hard your spine cracks? It took me a while to digest the hard truth that was staring me in the face! Being dumped is not a new thing, but being dumped for being “too good” is a mind boggling experience!The moment I received that phone call from my girlfriend telling me “we need to talk”, my inner alarm went off and I knew right away that something was terribly wrong! “I’m tired of this relationship and I want out!” She said those words with such…anger! “Is it something I did or didn’t do,” I inquired, visibly shocked.“Well, the problem with you is that you are too good! You love me too much I can barely breathe! Even when I mess up, you don’t get angry with me! It freaks me out,” she said in frustration. I was dumbfounded; I didn’t know what to say. Should I apologize for being good and promise to be bad if given another chance, I thought. Why do girls overlook the good guy and go for someone who is obviously going to break their heart, a guy who treats them with no respect whatsoever? I turned to a female pal who also happens to be a shrink for advice. She said that some women find good guys uninteresting with zero adventure. Apparently, these women hate guys who get sensitive and emotional about trivial stuff. They long for a guy who is in-control, laid back, and down-to-earth.I have accepted the fact that good guys finish last! To be honest, the temptation to hop on the ‘good guy gone bad’ wagon was so strong, but it’s just not me. If you are faced with a similar issue, remember you have your own dreams, and your own plans, and you must stick to them. You must not change yourself or your ideas just because some woman does not like it. Most men try to impress so hard, that they forget to be themselves. As for me, I’ll continue being me, and a special lady will one day see that bad boys… are no fun at all!
