La Jeunesse Football Club’s first target for upcoming season will be to avoid relegation, according to head coach Godfrey Okoko.Last season Jeunesse finished 9th on the 13-team table standing with 29 points, which cost their coach Emmanuel Ruremesha his job, but despite snapping up Okoko, who led Mukura VS to a respectable third place finishing, the club has put their expectation levels a bit low.“We are not going to win the league but fight until the end of the season. Am not so stupid to sit here and start talking of challenging for the title, however, what we want is to be competitive and see how high we can finish on the table,” Okoko told Times Sport.Last season, the Nyamirambo based youthful team got sponsorship from local mining company Euro Trade International.So far Okoko has signed strikers Fredy Illunga from AS Kigali and Onyango Ombeni from SC Kiyovu, midfielders Guillan Garamosa from AS Kigali and Khalid Nshimiyimana from Musanze. “Our first target is to make sure we stay in this league, and as soon as achieve that, then we can set ourselves other targets, which would be to finish in top half of the table,” added Okoko.He added, “We have sorted out some of the problems that we thought led to the team’s poor performances last season team. We want to have a settled and competitive team.”
