Tanzanian giants Simba SC are considering AS Kigali central defender Thierry Manzi as an alternative to Rayon's Abdul Rwatubyaye as they hope to storm the transfer market in full force this month. The Lions are ready to bring new players to their set up in order to beef up their squad for the 2023/24 season after they lost the title to traditional rivals Yanga SC this campaign. Simba are looking for a replacement for Kenyan defender Joash Onyango who is on his way out of the club and coach Robertinho Oliveira Gonçalves told the club management to sign Rayon skipper Abdul Rwatubyaye. However, Times Sport understands that the player’s recent injury record could be a nuisance to the deal considering how demanding the Tanzanian Premier League is. Thierry Manzi’s name has popped up as a more suitable option and deliberations are going on within the Simba hierarchy whether they should swoop for the AS Kigali stopper or the Rayon captain. Manzi joined AS Kigali in February 2023 on a two- year deal after being released by Moroccan powerhouse AS FAR Rabat.
