Birori leads chase for golden boot

Amavubi and AS Vita striker Dady Birori tops the scoring chart with six goals, one adrift of Yanga’s Said Bahanuz as Kagame Cup tournament comes to an end this afternoon.Birori has so far enjoyed a great tournament, banging goals with ease and managed to take the driver’s seat when he netted against Burundi’s Atletico’s in their hard-fought quarterfinal win.Birori will be hoping to score a goal against APR to certainly assure himself of the golden boot.Bahanuz, a former Mtibwa Sugar marksman scored a brace against Wau Salaam of Sudan, another brace against APR and another against Mafunzo on Monday.Another Yanga striker Hamis Kiiza, is also a strong contender for the golden boot having scored four goals.John Bocco (Azam), Robert Ssentongo (URA) and Seleman Ndikumana of APR have three each, but the latter can increase his tally if he scores against AS Vita today.The players on two goals are; Leonel St. Preux (APR), Didier Kavumbagu (Atletico), Feni Ali (URA) and Abdallah Juma (Simba).Olivier Karekezi, Jean Mugiraneza and Barnabe Mubumbyi (APR) have one goal each along with with Romaric Rogombe, Emmanuel Ngudikama, Basilua Makola (AS Vita), Ali Juma and Ali Mmanga (Mafunzo).
