Micho open to Katauti return

MILUTIN Sredojevic Micho has left the door open for Hamad Ndikumana a.k.a Katauti to resume his Amavubi career.The veteran defender recently joined Rayon Sport on a short-term deal and Micho reckons that the player can force his way back into the team if he hits top form.Despite overlooking him for this month’s 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria, Micho is giving Katauti every chance to feature in the near future and adding to his current tally of 51 caps.“He is one of the most experienced players around and, at this level, you need plenty of it (experience) so we hope he hits top form at Rayon,” Micho noted.Katauti joined the blues after being released by Cyprus club APOP Kinyras Peyias.He also played for Anorthosis, KV Mechelen, Nea Salamina and KAA Gent.Katauti is best remembered for manning Amavubi’s defense as Rwanda qualified for their maiden African Nations Cup in Tunisia back in 2004.His last match in national colours was a 2006 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Angola.Katauti is now looking to help Rayon challenge for the title. Rayon is five points behind league leaders Police.“It is good to be back at the club. I share a lot of history with Rayon Sport and will do my best to help them win a trophy this season,” the defender said after signing the deal.Rayon have been using defensive midfielder Floribert Ndayisaba at the heart of their defense following a career-ending injury to Hussein Mbanze.
